Talya Kamies is the director of Sales and Marketing for Allen Place. She began her career in health care in 2007, when she worked for Alegent Health as a certified medical assistant in a family practice and urgent care setting. After having three kids, she relocated her family back to her hometown of Atlantic, Iowa, where she worked in a variety of health care settings, from chiropractic care and family medicine to foot and ankle surgery.
Talya graduated from Bellevue University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in health care management and has used the degree in many facets of the health care industry, including long-term care, government contracts, and health care sales and marketing.
As her grandfather lived with frontotemporal dementia (also known as Pick’s disease), Talya says helping families who are struggling with the changes in dementia is a big part of why she works in senior living.
Outside of Allen Place, Talya enjoys watching her three teenagers play sports, exercising at the gym and traveling. Those who know her best know that she loves the tiny island of Isla Mujeres, strongly dislikes peas and loves her dogs as if they were her own children.
